The recently renovated rooms at Hotel Tara Palace were spotless and came with a balcony. the setting of the hotel was exceptionally nice and ideal, with easy access to about 10 major sites in Delhi in one day. - Fabulous dishes were served at the rooftop restaurant. - It was a great base for our trip.

The stay at this place during my trip was extremely comfortable, the location is fantastic and just a short walk from a subway station.

The hotel was fair value, clean and comfortable and with friendly helpful staff, and very handy to the sights of Old Delhi.
BUT....the location was unbelievable horrible, a hundred yards on foot up a narrow and filthy alley from an equally filthy and teaming market area (the web site photo must have been taken from an adjacent roof-top, you cannot get a clear view of the hotel frontage from the ground). Unless you have a very limited budget, a strong stomach, an obsesive liking for local colour and the courage and stamina to fight your way on foot through (with all your baggage when you arrive and leave) through the market we'd advise you to stay in new Delhi and use the excellent Metro system to get to the sights.

We had booked our hotel, the Hotel Tara Palace, on Hostelbookers.com, and as usual, paid a 10% deposit, the balance being payable directly to the hotel. One of the benefits of this hotel was "free airport transfers", so we had called them and arranged a pick-up from the airport. When we arrived we found our man, holding a sign with our names on, and we got into his car. He is a student from Kashmir, and during the holidays he works for the Hotel Tara Palace—he has been working there for six years. We got a bit of a free tour of Delhi (or "Dally", in his thick Kashmiri accent) on the way into town, and our man pointed out the landmarks and made general conversation. And then out of nowhere, he launched into his spiel. While you are there, the agent will be able to help you with your onward travel arrangements, or any tours of the city that you want. I can give you a tour tomorrow for 400 Rupees—if you go with a taxi driver in the street it will cost at least 800. By the way, do not take any taxis or rickshaws in Delhi as they will rip you off. Call me and I will take you wherever you want to go. Be very careful in Delhi, and do not set foot outside your hotel on your own. The touts are terrible and you will lose all your money.

This hotel is a great value for money. The prices are affordable and the attention to detail is impressive. Despite being located down an alleyway which put us off at first, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel's location in a side road in the middle of a wholesale market area. The service provided by the staff was top-notch and they made sure we had everything we needed. The basic amenities in the rooms were all there, and we found the rooms to have a simple design but still very comfortable, especially with the air conditioning. The rooms also had excellent cable channels and some even had a balcony, adding an extra touch of luxury. The breakfast offered at this hotel was delicious and satisfying, providing a great start to each day.
All was fine during our stay at this hotel.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem in the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, looking for a place to unwind after a hectic day. The warm and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The renovated room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The rooftop patio offered a perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal and a refreshing drink. The hotel's convenient location made it easy for me to explore the vibrant markets and iconic landmarks of Old Delhi. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience in Chandni Chowk. I had a great stay and left with wonderful memories.

Loved the complementary breakfast and airport shuttle service. the location was also very convenient, in the heart of the city with easy access to all the main attractions. Best of all, the rooftop view was amazing and made for a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
The room was not as clean as expected and had a musty smell. the staff was not very accommodating and seemed uninterested in helping us with our needs.

Spent Christmas in Delhi and had a great time at this hotel. The room was spacious and clean, with a big bed, air conditioning, TV, and even a fridge! The location was prime, within walking distance of the Red Fort and other major attractions. What I loved most was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful in ensuring I had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was also tasty and a great way to start the day.
The noise level at times, as the sound from outside and other guests could sometimes be heard. the hot water in the shower was not always reliable.
